Summer Camp FAQs
New this year, our form is part of the registration process. Please fill out each question of the medical form and a liability form prior to attending River Bend camps.
Campers that are signed up for any Adventure is Out There camp may require additional waivers for field trips.
If campers are signed up for multiple camp sessions throughout the summer, only one set of forms is required. Forms will be kept on file for the duration of the summer.
If you prefer paper forms, they can also be found on the Camp Forms and Resources page.
Completed forms may be sent to camp@rbnc.org or P.O. Box 186, Faribault, MN 55021.
Any adult picking up a child from summer camp will need to show photo ID each day of camp. Only adults listed on the camper's completed medical form will be allowed to pick-up campers from camp, with the showing of a photo ID.
Adults not listed on the camper's medical form or those who cannot show photo ID will not be allowed to pick up campers from camp.
Adults dropping off campers in the morning will have the ability to change pick-up authorizations throughout the week.
This camp policy is for the safety of all campers that attend River Bend camps.
This answer varies depending on the camp and age of campers, but River Bend maintains a maximum camp to staff ratio of 15:1 at all times.
We're excited to announce that we are offering FREE breakfast and lunch this year in partnership with Faribault Public Schools and Sodexo Food Service. You are welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks, but rest assured that food will be provided should you forget.
We do not cancel camp for inclement weather. We do our best to keep to the planned activities rain or shine, so please send your camper(s) with the appropriate gear. A rainy day may require a rain jacket, rain boots, extra dry clothing, etc.
If weather is deemed dangerous, campers will be moved to a safe indoor location.
Yes! To place your child on a wait list for a full camp, complete the registration by mail, phone, or online. Payment is not processed unless the child gets into the camp. If space becomes available, individuals will be taken off the wait list first-come, first-serve, and the individuals will be notified via email.
Items that we suggest every camper should bring to camp include: Backpack to hold things, reusable water bottle, change of clothes, extra socks, lunch (for full day camps only), sunscreen, and insect repellent.
A packing list specific to the camp(s) your child is attending will be emailed out prior to the start of camp. Additional items vary by camp but may include: water shoes, swim clothes, long pants, etc.
Each of our camps caters towards a different age range, and is split into the following categories by grade level the child is entering in the Fall.
Meadowlarks, children entering grades K-2 in the fall.
Herons, children entering grades 3-5 in the fall.
Adventure Is Out There, children entering grades 3-9 in the fall.
We ask that you sign your camper up only for the camps that indicate the correct grade range. This helps our staff create an experience that is appropriate for all campers in attendance.
There will be no refunds for summer camp sessions. If the participant is unable to attend, a full credit will be given to use on another RBNC camp or program in the same calendar year. Ability to transfer funds expires 5 days after notifying staff you are unable to attend camp. If River Bend must cancel a camp session, you will receive a full refund.
In order to take advantage of our membership discount prices for summer camp, you must have a current River Bend membership on the day camp starts for your child.
No. River Bend does not offer care prior to the drop-off time of 9:00 AM, (8:30 AM for Adventure Is Out There Camps) or pick-up time of 4:00 PM. River Bend also does not offer sibling care--all children attending camp are expected to register and pay in full.
