Hike and Bike
River Bend trails are open every day of the year from 6am to 10pm
- Share the trails and enjoy the outdoors
- Ride your bike on main trails only, please stay off deer paths and help protect the Dwarf Trout Lily
- Hike or Run
- Bring your furry friends on a leash. Please pick up after them!
Geocaching
Enjoy what you love most and search for hidden treasures at River Bend Nature Center.
River Bend Geocaching Rules
- Minimize impact by staying on trails until you are within 60 feet of location.
- Geocaches are hidden within a few feet of a trail.
- If you take something from the geocache, leave something of the same value in its place.
- Alert staff if geocache cannot be found or is empty.
- Individuals must ask for permission from River Bend staff before placing any new geocaches.
- Please follow other River Bend Rules listed here.
Snowshoe Rentals
Snowshoes are available when there is enough snow on the ground. We have a variety of styles to choose from.
- Aluminum with poles
- Wooden Bearpaw - Good for heavy wooded areas and frequent turning
- Wooden Michigan - Good for open or wooded areas
- Wooden Alaskan - Good for open areas and deep snow
Rental Fees
River Bend Member: Wooden $5, Aluminum $15
Non-member: Wooden $10, Aluminum $20
Cross Country Skiing
Skiers 16 years old and up must have a Minnesota State Ski Pass. These can be purchased online through the MN DNR website or anywhere hunting/fishing licenses are sold. Our trail grooming is funded through a state grant that relies on the pass funds. Thank you for your support!
- Enjoy 7 miles of groomed trails made by dedicated volunteers!

- Trails are usually groomed a day or two after fresh snow

Facility Rentals
River Bend is a great place to host your next event with large spaces to accommodate your group for birthday parties, meetings, celebration of life, baby showers or other gatherings.

Please review the following forms, sign and send them to rbncinfo@rbnc.org. A deposit of 50% of the rental fee is required to book your date. The balance is due the day of your event.
