Geocaching

By: Brittany Smith

We’re going on a treasure hunt, X marks the spot! Geocaching is a great way to get out, get some exercise, enjoy nature, and find a treasure.

So, grab your GPS, good pair of hiking shoes, and hand sanitizer? Yes, hand sanitizer! What do you do when you find the geocache? Most, if not all, people will pick it up. It is more important then ever, to use hand sanitizer after handling geocaches to avoid spreading viruses and bacteria to others who are out geocaching too.

Image may contain: plant, possible text that says 'Hoot, hoot, Who brought the hand sanitizer?'

At this time, River Bend highly recommends only looking at the geocaches with your eyes and avoid touching them.

You rely on River Bend to maintain the geocaches. River Bend relies on YOU to help maintain operation of this great place to connect with nature. Please, become a member and/or donate to support River Bend Nature Center, one of Faribault’s greatest treasures.

If you’re interested in geocaching, you can find geocaches hidden worldwide at https://www.geocaching.com/play Please observe social distancing guidelines.
