This year, in celebration of River Bend Nature Center turning 45 years old, we are running a 2024 Photo Calendar Contest.

FREE contest to enter with cash prizes awarded to the winning entries.  There will be thirteen (13) photos that win - one for each month and the cover.  Cash prizes will be awarded $40 for each month and $70 for the cover.

The theme of the photo can be anything at River Bend Nature Center, Faribault, MN.

• Submit up to 3 photos, any combination of categories.
• Categories are Animals, Plants, Mushrooms, People, Outdoor Recreation, Programs/Events, Habitats and Seasons.
• The photo may be black and white or color.
• Please submit high-resolution jpg files a minimum of 6MB and no larger than 8 MB or 2000px at the longest side,
• Physical photos must be sized to at least 8”x10” for optimal printing.
• The direction of the photo can be landscape or portrait (landscape is preferred, but will have no impact on the judging process).
• Any pictures depicting harmful, damaging or illicit images will be disqualified.

The photo contest begins June 24, 2023 and ends August 31, 2023. The judging process will be conducted by River Bend staff and will be completed no later than September 15, 2023. Winners will be notified by email.

The 2024 calendar will be printed by Tri M Graphics in Owatonna, MN and available for sale through River Bend Nature Center's Gift Shop by November, 2023. All proceeds go directly to River Bend Nature Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), to help us continue to be a natural resource for Faribault and the surrounding communities.

Authorize to Reproduce

In submitting your photos to the contest, you attest and agree that you are the creator and owner of the photo(s) you submit. You retain your rights to your photograph, and by entering the contest, you grant River Bend Nature Center a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media. Photos may be reproduced for the River Bend Nature Center 45th Anniversary Calendar as color, duo-tone, or black and white at River Bend Nature Center's discretion. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. River Bend Nature Center will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

By submitting your photos you agree to River Bend Nature Center's Copyright Agreement.
