For the 2022-2023 school year, River Bend Nature Center invites all learners, ages 5-12 years old, the opportunity to experience all of the seasons at River Bend! Classes are held on the second Monday of the month from 1pm-3pm.

January 9: Survival

Do you know what to do if you’re lost in the woods? Come learn about all of the safety and survival techniques you need to know for your next excursion into the wild.

February 13: Nature Study & Journaling

Ever wonder how people can notice the smallest details in nature? Learn the art of observation and record keeping as we explore River Bend Nature Center. 

March 13: Maple Syruping/Tree ID

Learn all about the historical, cultural, and natural importance of maple syruping in Minnesota. See the process of turning sap into syrup, but first, you need to learn how to identify trees without their leaves!

April 10: Weather and seasons

As the weather warms, learn all about the seasons we experience in Minnesota and how weather changes. 

May 8: Reptiles and amphibians

Come meet River Bend’s animal ambassadors, a painted turtle, gray tree frog, tiger salamander, and corn snake, as we explore the importance of and differences between reptiles and amphibians.
