National Public Lands Day 2023- Registration link is now live!
When: Saturday, September 23, 2023
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Where: Meet at the Interpretive Center: 1000 Rustad Road, Faribault, MN 55021
What to Bring: sunscreen, bug spray, gloves, proper attire for working in the woods
What we are doing: Volunteers will have the option to spend their time basking in the sun of River Bend's prairies collecting native seed or find their inner squirrel and scurry through the understory of River Bend's big woods collecting native hardwood seeds. Seeds collected from both sites will be used in future restoration projects.
These activities are fun for all ages and a great way to spend family time in nature!
Why we Celebrate: River Bend Nature Center is unique in that the land is owned by the City of Faribault which has an agreement for River Bend Nature Center to operate it as a nature center. River Bend is a 501(c)3 nonprofit nature center and depends upon memberships and donations for operations as well as volunteers. River Bend Nature Center is not a city park, but open for public use.
